About me ...
I always say I was born with a pencil in my hand. Indeed, I can`t remember a time when I wasn`t painting or drawing. Mainly self-taught I have investigated, turn by turn, all the media - leaving watercolour to the last (because I think this is the most difficult to master). But, having mastered the technique to my satisfaction, I think it gives me the greatest joy when I find that I can achieve the depth of colour I want by patiently layering successive glazes of transparent colour. This is the technique I use in the flower paintings in Gallery I. They are full-Imperial size and I paint on an upright easel leaving the paint to find it its own way on the paper. Messy, but fun!
I also work in acrylics, pastels (sticks and Pan Pastels) , gouache, mixed media, and oils.
I am a member of The Welland Valley Art Society and the Maxey Art Group. In addition I am a Professional Associate of the SAA (Society for all Artists) and a member of the Association of Animal Artists.
I exhibit regularly and my work is in private collections around the world.
For the month of October 2016 I have a Solo Exhibition at the Arts Centre, Stamford.
